GUIDTracker is a FREEWARE program used to display confirmed cheats and suspect players in a PunkBuster enabled game server. Key to the program is the ability to identify players
regardless of the aliases (pseudonyms) they use. To do this, GUIDTracker
uses a players unique PunkBuster Globally Unique Identifier (PB GUID) given to them by EvenBalance rather than their alias to identify them. This program only works on PunkBuster enabled multi-player servers. GUIDTracker is written entirely in AutoIt.
In essence, GUIDTracker is a databasing log analyzer. It collects GUIDs from a players PunkBuster Client Log (pbcl.log) so that it can compare them against a central database and alert users if suspect and confirmed cheats are currently in the server. It also uploads GUIDs and Aliases to the central database so that users are able to conduct manual searches in their own time.
GUIDTracker incorporates an array of tools including search functions that enable a user to search for information about a player using a players unique GUID or Alias, as well as, the ability to place suspect players on a Watch List which can be used by players or server admins as a "heads-up". It also provides an easy means of obtaining and copying your IP, your PB GUID and the servers IP and port in case you need to provide them for use in forums etc. In addition to providing a watch list of suspect players, the program also uses the public ban lists of anti-cheat sites like PunksBusted and PBBans to provide a visual (and audible) alert of confirmed cheaters in the server. GUIDTracker is also able to show you when your friends join your server.
In an effort to reduce in-game lag and potential problems with PunkBuster while gaming, GUIDTracker has been designed to use the PB Setup and PB Service Installation utilities provided by EvenBalance (if installed). These utilities install the PunkBuster Services and keep the PunkBuster game files up-to-date and working.
